Foreign Body Removal

Foreign body removal is a common ENT procedure performed by Dr. Vibhor Malhotra for patients, especially children, who accidentally insert small objects into the ear, nose, or throat.

What is FB Removal?
It involves carefully extracting a foreign object — such as a bead, seed, cotton, or insect — from the ear, nose, or throat using specialized ENT instruments under direct visualization.

Why does it happen?
Children are more prone to inserting objects into body openings out of curiosity. In adults, it may occur due to accidental lodging of objects or insects. This can cause pain, discharge, bleeding, or breathing difficulty if not promptly treated.

Procedure:
Dr. Malhotra uses precision tools like forceps, suction, or endoscopes to safely remove the object without damaging surrounding tissues. In some cases, local or general anaesthesia may be used for comfort. Immediate removal prevents infection and restores normal function.
